The art of basso continuo is a never ending exploration of possibilities.
Venturing to the British Isles, Melbourne’s Continuo Collective explores rediscovered and rarely heard works from the early life of the guitar. Accompanied by Samantha Cohen (lute) and Geoffrey Morris (guitar), rising star Brenton Spiteri (tenor) performs enchanting works by John Dowland as well as Benjamin Britten’s 20th-century masterworks, Folksongs Arrangements and Songs from the Chinese. Together, the trio also presents a new song-set composed especially for this concert by respected Melbourne composer, Dermot Tutty.
