Now in its sixth year, Melbourne Recital Centre’s Bach Competition is dedicated to young musicians passionate about J.S. Bach and Baroque performance. Come and enjoy a selection of Bach’s landmark solo compositions performed by the outstanding young musicians in this year’s competition Final.

Entries are now closed for Melbourne Recital Centre’s 2015 Bach Competition, dedicated to young musicians passionate about J.S. Bach.
Entrants will compete for the Richard Mills Prize of $2000, two Encouragement Prizes of $1,000 and the Newsboys Foundation Regional Music Award which includes travel, accommodation, tuition, concert tickets and mentoring opportunities.
This competition is open to any instrument/s, to soloists who are 17 years of age and under (at 1 January 2015). A minimum performance level of AMEB Grade 5 or equivalent is expected. Students from rural or regional Victoria are eligible for the Newsboys Foundation Regional Music Award.
Competition repertoire will consist of any works of JS Bach not exceeding 11 minutes in total duration. The Competition Final will be held at Melbourne Recital Centre on Sunday 28 June 2015. This event is free and general admission, however tickets will be required for entry.
