‘Spellbinding country-soul.’ The Guardian
Things have been moving at a quick pace for Virginian singer-songwriter Natalie Prass, who is on the verge of her first ever Australian tour in support of her acclaimed eponymous debut album. That record received an ecstatic response all over the globe for its lush, melancholic narratives and beautiful arrangements, earning a prestigious ‘Best New Album’ accolade from Pitchfork, a ‘Ten New Artists You Need To Know’ slot from Rolling Stone and a gushing 5 star review from The Guardian.
But while the ascension of Natalie Prass may seem meteoric to outsiders, in reality it’s the culmination of a life-long love affair with the musical form. At just 29 Natalie has already played a stint with Matthew E White (who eventually co-produced Natalie Prass) and began her professional career as keyboardist for Jenny Lewis’ touring band.
Melbourne Recital Centre is pleased to debut her indubitable skills ahead of Golden Plains Festival.
