Strauss, Lutoslawski & Chausson.
Violinist Harry Bennetts is currently studying at the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra Academy, having won the inaugural Australian National Academy of Music Berlin Philharmonic Academy Fellowship. He returns to Australia for this ANAM Artists recital tour, joined by one of the country’s leading pianists, Melbourne based Louisa Breen.
Their program includes the performance of Richard Strauss’s lyrical and technically demanding Sonata for Violin and Piano in E-flat, Op.18 and Lutoslawski’s virtuosic miniature Subito; four minutes of pure emotional turmoil. The performance then finishes with the gentle dreaminess of Poème – Chausson’s best-known and much-loved composition.
