MELBOURNE CHAMBER ORCHESTRA

ABOUT

Under Artistic Director William Hennessy, MCO presents an annual series of concerts at Melbourne Recital Centre, as well as undertaking regular tours to regional areas. MCO’s repertoire focuses on baroque and classical music from the 18th century supplemented by appropriate works from the 19th and 20th century.

With a core of eighteen string players, MCO’s membership is based on the younger generation of artists who have based themselves in Melbourne to further their careers as chamber and freelance players. With a strong commitment to nurturing careers and to the development of new talent MCO also presents an annual music education program in selected Victorian regional centres.
