Learn more about Melbourne Recital Centre.
We are excited to announce that Victorian students have the opportunity to access special guided tours and learn about Melbourne Recital Centre for the first time during Education Week 2014 (19 – 22 May).
Students will explore some of the finest acoustic spaces in the world. Learn about the design of the performance spaces, including the timber lined Elisabeth Murdoch Hall, appreciate the artwork, marvel at the architecture and explore behind the scenes. Investigate the technical considerations relevant to sound production at Melbourne’s home of Music.
This activity is free to Victorian secondary students and is particularly suited to VCE Music Performance and VET Music Industry students. Numbers are limited and will book quickly. Bookings are essential and will be processed in order of receipt. When all sessions are filled, schools will be placed on a waiting list.
Tours will take place from Monday 19 May to Thursday 22 May at 10.30-11.30am or 12.00-1.00 pm daily. Please note that one tour booking will be accepted per school.
