Glories of the French Baroque

Glories of the French Baroque

Details

Suites and Arias from ‘Tragédies en musique’, ‘Opéra-ballets’ and ‘Comédies lyriques’ by Jean-Philippe Rameau.

Audiences from Vienna and Paris to New York and Glyndebourne have fallen in love with Brenda Rae, and now it is Australia’s turn to see what all the excitement is about.

Stunning young American coloratura Brenda Rae has won accolades for her ‘golden soprano’ and now, in partnership with the Melbourne Festival and Melbourne Recital Centre, joins the ANAM Orchestra for her exclusive Australian debut in a vocal feast, offering some exquisite treasures from the master of the French baroque, Jean-Philippe Rameau.

Pulling it all together is Australian conductor Benjamin Bayl who returns home from an impressive list of engagements overseas to share his extensive experience in early music with our up and coming young musicians.

Presented by Melbourne Recital Centre and Australian National Academy of Music (ANAM) in association with Melbourne Festival
