James Vincent McMorrow

James Vincent McMorrow debuts at Melbourne Recital Centre this March

‘Sonically audacious, visually stunning and meticulously modern.’ The Times

Irish troubadour James Vincent McMorrow has a strong affinity with Australia having toured successfully several times over the past few years building a fan base loyal to his dreamy demeanour. The falsetto-wielding musician returns for a concert that will be both a personal and intimate experience.

The Dublin-born singer/songwriter’s debut single ‘Higher Love’ catapulted him into the charts where he has sporadically reappeared over the course of the past few years. Writing mystical, memorable and melodic little numbers that are just too good to ignore, his success has grown with platinum sales, award nominations, world tours and TV appearances including Later… With Jools Holland. His latest album We Move is expansive, generous and his most ambitious record to date and the first single ‘Rising Water’ combines funky synths with his icy vocals, some piano and a danceable backbeat.

When James takes to the stage his voice soars over high notes with a peaceful ease, which is breathtaking to witness firsthand. Often compared to Bon Iver, McMorrow is in fact in a league of his own. Stand up, charge your glasses with something potent and salute Dublin’s James Vincent McMorrow.
