In a tribute to some of the great American singers and songwriters of our time, internationally acclaimed Melbourne vocalist Julia Messenger, along with her quintet, present a program entitled, ‘Lush Life: Songs of the Great American Songbook’.

Earning rave reviews around the world for her exquisite vocal technique and ability to get to the heart of a song, Julia Messenger is a truly versatile singer-songwriter, with a voice expressing an incredible range of tone, mood and emotion. As one who delights in spotlighting some of those heartfelt and timeless pieces, Julia is equally at home presenting new works as audience favourites, and the slightly more obscure.

‘Lush Life’ showcases the greats of jazz. With a program featuring songs from the deep repertoire sources of George Gershwin, Johnny Mercer, Harold Arlen, Jerome Kern and Oscar Hammerstein, delight in songs from the Great American Songbook with Julia Messenger and her Quintet.
