Flinders Quartet performs Bowman, Guastavino and Schubert works in Schubert in the South
Time to crack open the bubbly, this concert is perfect beginning to Flinders Quartet’s 2017 Schubert celebration!
Carlos Guastavino was known as the ‘Schubert of the Pampas’ and Australia’s very own Calvin Bowman is gaining a reputation as the ‘Schubert of the South’. Topped off by Schubert’s epic quartet in G, Flinders Quartet have the perfect Schubert tribute. It seems unorthodox, but a string quartet is the perfect vehicle to showcase three masters of song from across the globe – four instrumentalists in lyrical conversation.
