‘An inspiring example of forwardthinking classical music culture in Australia.’ CutCommon
Three is a unique Melbournebased chamber ensemble that explores a variety of musical styles including experimental, traditional and popular music.
Joel Brennan (trumpet), Don Immel (trombone), and Ken Murray (guitar), have presented numerous dynamic performances in Australia and abroad that utilise three timbral modes: acoustic, live electronic sound manipulation and the addition of pre-recorded electronic soundscapes. Australian Electric features new works written for Three that highlight the combination of their instruments with real-time and pre-recorded soundscapes. The program includes world premiere performances of two Australian works by James Ledger and Wally Gunn.
