Trumpeter/vocalist Audrey Powne performs with her quartet of the finest emerging young jazz musicians.
Performing original songs inspired by jazz standards and crooners, Powne breathes new life into this style for a new generation with lyrics exploring modern relationships and melodies.
Audrey Powne’s music exhibits sophistication and virtuosity rarely demonstrated in one her age. She captures the spirit and vivacity of old fashioned crooners with modern sensibilities and a array of influences from Louis Armstrong to contemporary Pop and RnB artists. She is known to Australian soul fans for fronting The Do Yo Thangs and stalwart funk outfit Au Dré, or to Trumpet enthusiasts as the resident Trumpeter for the likes of The Bedroom Philosopher and The Tiger and me.
Her command of the Trumpet has seen her perform alongside many of the most prominent names on the instrument including Terence Blanchard and Leroy Jones.
