Now in its ninth year, Melbourne Recital Centre’s Bach Competition is dedicated to young musicians passionate about J.S. Bach.

Come and listen to an array of budding young performers battle it out on stage and enjoy an afternoon of the Baroque genius.

COMPETITION ENTRY

Registrations are now closed

Entrants will compete for the Richard Mills Prize of $2000 plus additional encouragement prizes. This competition is open to any instrument/s soloists, duos or small ensembles (five or less) 17 years of age and under (at 1 January 2018). A minimum performance level of AMEB Grade 5 or equivalent is expected. Students from rural or regional Victoria are eligible for The Newsboys Foundation Regional Music Award.

Competition repertoire will consist of any works of JS Bach not exceeding 10 minutes in total duration. The Competition Final will be held at Melbourne Recital Centre on Sunday 17 June 2018. This event is free and general admission, however tickets will be required for entry.
