Miss Selby is the founder and Artistic Director of both the popular nationally touring Selby & Friends concert series, now in its 13th season, and the A Little Lunch Music series at Sydney’s City Recital Hall. She was appointed as a Member of the Order of Australia, receiving the ‘AM’ on Australia Day 2013. She is the recipient of both the prestigious Churchill and Australia Council Fellowships. She began her piano studies at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music and then attended the famed Curtis Institute, Bryn Mawr College and the Juilliard School in the US. Miss Selby has won prizes at numerous international competitions, been a guest at music festivals around the world including Spoleto, Aspen, Australian Festival of Chamber Music and the Marlboro Music Festival and has been a guest artist with the Tokyo, Endellion, Goldner and ASQ amongst others. In 1988 Miss Selby was officially appointed the first Musician-in-Residence at Macquarie University, Sydney, and founded the Macquarie Trio. She also was a member of the first ensemble-in-residence, TRIOZ, at Sydney’s City Recital Hall. Miss Selby has recorded extensively for the NAXOS and ABC Classics labels. She mentors students around the country and teaches at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.
