‘Sublime vocal delivery from Clancye Milne, one of Melbourne’s lesser-known auditory delights.’ Beat Magazine

Clancye Milne is a Melbourne-based improvising contemporary vocalist. She has performed across Australia at highlight events and venues including the Wangaratta Jazz Festival, Bennetts Lane Jazz Club, Foundry 616, Melbourne Recital Centre, the Melbourne International Jazz Festival and The Paris Cat Jazz Club.

With a diverse array of creative influences, her music focuses on her love of poetry and melody through a blend of jazz and contemporary folk music. Drawn to the expression and spontaneity of improvisation, her compositions are forever growing, ensuring that no two performances are ever alike.

The music of Joni Mitchell has long etched itself into the hearts of people world wide. The Clancye Milne Octet have carefully selected a collection of her most loved compositions and re-imagined them for jazz octet. Enhancing the harmony and augmenting the instrumental colours, the group use Mitchell’s pieces, as a platform for connection, expression and improvisation.
