Gian formed her collaboration with the renowned Silo String Quartet to present songs from her 2008 release ‘Creatures at the Crossroads’.
Gian recorded the album with the remarkable pianist Will Poskitt, who tragically passed away shortly after the recording. The album was inspired by the artsong tradition and explores ideas of freedom and limitation, reflecting upon the struggle to find a balance between the necessities, responsibilities and passions in our lives.
Gian’s re-arrangements for the sublime Silo String Quartet give this material a new life, while still retaining the integrity and minimalism of the album’s original sound. For this very special concert, Slater and Silo String Quartet celebrate the 10th anniversary of the album and honour the memory of a beloved friend and musician.
