Details

Enjoy the colourful and imaginative orchestral works of the 18th century when MSO’s concertmaster Dale Barltrop directs musicians through the glorious Brandenburg Concertos.

To contrast, two gripping twenty-first century creations: Smith’s Alchemy by Composer in Residence Carl Vine is a work that brilliantly showcases the virtuosity of the MSO String players, and Vox Amoris, where the composer uses solo violin to weave a love story scales a staggeringly vast emotional soundscape

‘The Brandenburg Concertos are pure joy to perform and the Vox Amoris is an intense and hauntingly beautiful work.’ Dale Barltrop, Concertmaster
