Grand Final - String Quartets



Experience the future of chamber music.

This July, Melbourne becomes the most exciting place in the world for chamber music. Sixteen brilliant young ensembles from around the world arrive to compete for more than $150,000 in cash and prizes and the chance to launch their international career.

Six days of competition culminates in a thrilling Grand Final concert to crown the String Quartet winner. The three finalist ensembles will each perform a new work of their choice, with the winner in the running to be awarded the prestigious Grand Prize of MICMC 2018.

The three String Quartet Grand Finalists will be announced at the completion of the Semi-Finals on the evening of Friday 6 July.
