Marlene Cummins - Marloo's Blues

Marlene Cummins

Details

Marlene Cummins presents a biographical journey through her music with songs and lyrics inspired by a myriad of political, social and personal experiences.

With a mixture of original and traditional blues numbers, the centrepiece is the stirring epic blues anthem Koori Woman. Marlene dedicates this song to Aboriginal women everywhere as they were, in her words, ‘the backbone of the struggle’.

Melbourne Recital Centre proudly stands on the land of the Boon Wurrung people of the Kulin Nation, and we acknowledge the powerful storytelling of a thousand generations who precede us.
