Midnight in Moscow

Stiletto_Sisters_2017.jpeg

Details

The Stiletto Sisters have been wooing audiences for the past 12 years with their seductive blend of Hungarian gypsy, tango and love songs from around the world.

Hungarian trained violinist Hope Csutoros, piano accordionist Judy Gunson and double bassist Jo To perform with extraordinary emotional range and intensity with more than a touch of humour.

A sleigh ride through the night. Is that a wolf we hear howling in the distance? The driver urges on our little pony and we arrive at an Inn on the outskirts of Moscow where steaming dumplings are served with bowls of sour cream and golden goblets filled with Vodka. The band, three glamorous and strangely familiar gypsy girls, plays a curious mixture of folk melodies and Shostakovich, Yiddish songs, riotous dances and the music of Regina Ilyinichna Spektor!
