The Something for Kate frontman and celebrated solo troubadour debuts at Melbourne Recital Centre this November.
Having spent a jam-packed 2018 touring the world and writing new material for the forthcoming Something For Kate album, Australian music legend Paul Dempsey takes to the stage for one night only, performing songs from across his vast solo and Something for Kate catalogues.
Stepping onto the stage in his home town, alone with his guitar, Dempsey will tell stories, and hold musical conversations that connect performer with audience in a way very few artists can. It’s this rare ability (plus his extraordinary ability to produce quality material for over two decades) that explains Dempsey’s long and celebrated career.
Says Paul of this special one-off show at Melbourne Recital Centre:
‘Hometown shows are always special and I’m particularly excited about this one. It’s about bloody time I gave my audience an opportunity to enjoy the music in a stunning acoustic environment whilst (hopefully) wearing something nice and reclining in a well-designed chair at a perfectly reasonable hour on a school night.’
This is a unique opportunity to hear one of Australia’s most powerful voices in the intimate surrounds of Elisabeth Murdoch Hall.
