Formed at the Australian National Academy of Music in 2014, Penny Quartet is rapidly gaining a reputation as a fresh, interpretative voice to chamber music giving high profile recitals, festival showcases and master classes across the country.
Respire features works chosen to uplift and energise, exploring three very different yet equally intoxicating composers. From Bryce Dessner’s Aheym, the meeting of traditional and experimental techniques found in Jorg Widmann’s writing, to the ethereal and often euphoric Britten.
