Symphonic Mozart

Mostly Mozart is an hour of wonderful music and the chance to catch up with friends over a cup of tea with classical masterpieces performed in the acoustic beauty of Elisabeth Murdoch Hall with musicians from the Australian National Academy of Music (ANAM) and guests.

Australian violist and composer Brett Dean has established himself as one of the leading musicians in the world today. A former Artistic Director of ANAM, we welcome him to the final concert of our 2018 season as both composer and performer. His 2011 work for strings is dedicated to Richard Hickox, former Music Director of Opera Australia.

On either side we hear two iconic works by Mozart – his elegiac Masonic Funeral Music, and the magnificent Sinfonia Concertante, a most joyous and celebratory way to bring this great season to a close.
