Ball Hanlon Schulz

Experience subtle and intimate music performed in a purely acoustic setting with three acclaimed musicians from distinct and diverse background in the Melbourne jazz scene.

Trumpeter Eugene Ball has developed a strong reputation over two decades on the jazz scene, ranging from traditional work with The Hoodangas and Allan Browne, to contemporary work, such as his longtime role with the ARIA-winning Andrea Keller Quartet.

Bassist Ben Hanlon is a member of the MSO, but is equally adept as an improvising bassist. Anthony Schulz (piano & piano accordion) is best-known for his work in the long-running Frock ensemble, as well as more experimental contexts. Together they focus on subtle and intimate musical interaction in a purely acoustic context.
