Breathe is a collection of songs composed in the buzz and business of New York City. Inspired by the cities surroundings, vocalist Alyson Murray has composed a body of new music which features on her debut album, Breathe. Through soulful grooves and rich harmonies, Alyson reflects on a city often filled with anxiety, exploring themes of love, new surroundings and growth, while infusing a sense of relief into the city that never sleeps.
Graduating from the Victorian College of the Arts in 2015, Alyson bravely took on the New York music scene, collaborating with renowned artists including guitarist Nir Felder, pianist Jon Cowherd, drummer Lee Pearson and bassist Michael Olatuja. Receiving international recognition on the release of her single ‘You Rock My World’, Alyson was number one in the U.K. people’s choice charts for several weeks. ‘A classic sound with a modern twist, amazing soulful vocals,’ said JazzFM U.K.
