‘This was chamber music making at its finest.’ Classic Melbourne
Pianist Kristian Chong is one of Australia’s most sought-after musicians, performing often as a chamber musician, concerto soloist and recitalist. Kristian Chong & Friends is a gathering of Kristian’s talented friends for wonderful programs of chamber music.
Experience two of Brahms’ sophisticated and profound earlier works, his majestic Piano Quartet Op.26 and the rarely heard Variations on an Original Theme for solo piano, a series of 11 intimate and rich variations on a beautiful theme. These magical works are performed by celebrated pianist Kristian Chong and his friends: Melbourne Symphony Orchestra’s Co-concertmaster Sophie Rowell, Principal Viola Christopher Moore and Associate Principal Cello Rachael Tobin.
