‘Barnard accompanied these songs with great sensitivity.’ Adelaide Now
The ‘Collaborative Pianist’, David Barnard, shows us his versatility in the chamber music setting, bringing to life the seldom heard music of Joseph Marx, Robert Suderberg, Paul Hindemith, Richard Strauss and Robert Schumann with some of Australia’s finest chamber musicians.
Enjoy a rare chance to hear two stunning early 20th-century works from renowned European composers Joseph Marx and Josef Suk. Performed by acclaimed pianist David Barnard and guest string players, hear the spirited and deeply felt Trio-Phantasie by Marx and Suk’s rich and lyrical Elegy, a celebration of the Czech poet Julius Zeyer inspired by his epic Vyšehrad.
