Situated in both the centre and the periphery of jazz as part of a generation of influential artists, trumpeter Ambrose Akinmusire is carving out the shape of the future of jazz.
Masterfully weaving together inspiration from other genres, arts and every day life, his compositions are poetic, graceful and bold.
The culmination of a series of intensive rehearsals with students and staff from the Sir Zelman Cowen School of Music, see Ambrose Akinmusire take to the stage with Australia’s next generation of jazz musicians for an exuberant celebration of freeform improvisation that will inspire and delight.
