Victoria Chorale

Victoria Chorale inspires and delights choristers and audiences with wonderful choral concerts performed with great flair.

Highlights of recent performances with the vibrant Art of Sound Orchestra include the Brahms Requiem and Alto Rhapsody, Mozart’s Requiem and Great Mass, Carmina Burana, Faure Requiem, Haydn’s Creation and Nelson Mass. The choir also performs music by contemporary Australian and NZ composers such as Barry Conyngham, Andrew Perkins, Andrian Pertout, Sarah Hopkins and Barry McKimm

The choir has developed and grown greatly under the dynamic leadership of its conductor, Dr Mario Dobernig. Victoria Chorale choristers travel from all over Melbourne to sing with the choir. The choir regularly performs at CBD venues such as St Paul’s Cathedral, Collins St Baptist Church and the Melbourne Recital Centre, and also travels to regional Victoria. In 2019 the choir is heading to Europe, singing in St Stephens Cathedral (Vienna), the Bratislava Cultural Summer Festival and in Graz, Kapfenberg and St Margarethen (Austria)

Now in its 26th year, Victoria Chorale was founded in late 1993 by Val J Pyers OAM and has been singing wonderful choral music throughout Victoria ever since. It has well-earned reputation for the excellence, diversity and warmth of its performances and the camaraderie amongst the choir members.
