The Carrot - Asis D’Orange

The Carrot - Asis D’Orange

This work references self-harm and binge eating.

Details

Asis D’Orange has become a household name in Tel Aviv’s underground drag scene for their subversive performances play with the borders of both genre and gender.

Born Aviv Shalem and raised in a religious household, Asis discovered, in drag, a place to explore fashion and art from a distinctly political, anarchist and genderqueer perspective.

Their star has been on the rise since 2017 when they took home the crown in the Tel Aviv International LGBT Film Festival’s first drag competition.

Asis’s passions cover fashion, feminism and veganism, which converge in dark and glamorous ways in this performance of ‘The Carrot’.

Following the performance, Asis will participate in an audience Q & A.
