The Savannah Way

The String Contingent 2019.JPG

Experience a joyful combination of precision, refinement and beauty.

The String Contingent confidently walks the line between folk, classical, jazz and bluegrass.

The ensemble’s music is inspired by travels to diverse landscapes and cultures. Last year they drove the magnificient Savannah Way from Cairns to Broome, writing music while accompanied by morning birdsong, feeding fish and the sand between their toes.

Come discover the music of their adventure in concert.

Presented by Melbourne Recital Centre & The String Contingent

Holly Downes (double bass)
Chris Stone (violin)
Rachel Johnston (cello)

Please note, guitarist Graham McLeod is unable to perform in the concert. The String Contingent are delighted to welcome cellist Rachel Johnston in his place.
