The Tragedy of Mignon

Unique in the musical landscape of Australia, Songmakers Australia performs pinnacles of chamber music in inspired programs that feature a dynamic interplay of song and chamber music.

Featuring stirring songs and duets by Schubert, Schumann, Wolf and Tchaikovsky, the ensemble explores the story of Mignon, one of literature and music’s most enigmatic characters.

A minor player in Goethe’s Wilhelm Meister, Mignon became the object of an obsession that attracted many great art song composers.
