Melbourne’s Flinders Quartet is instantly recognisable as one of Australia’s most loved chamber music ensembles.
Its dynamic performances run the full spectrum of repertoire and leave audiences and critics expressing their praise: ‘We are indeed fortunate to have resident in Australia a quartet of this very high calibre’ classikON. A quartet for the 21st century, Flinders supports emerging Australian composers and musicians with its critically acclaimed programming, impressing audiences with gripping interpretations of new works and established masterpieces alike.
Flinders Quartet celebrates chamber music as a global language. Stuart Greenbaum’s new work joins East and West by matching the Chinese er-hu with the European tradition of string quartet and recorder.
