A tour-de-force in the interpretation of 20th- and 21st-century Australian chamber music. Piano maverick Sonya Lifschitz and violist extraordinaire James Wannan delve into the political revolutions of eastern Europe in Elena Kats-Chernin, the deconstruction of tonality by Roger Smalley, and journey into the new with Jack Symonds. Together Sonya Lifschitz and James Wannan reveals the wondrous textural, timbral and colouristic possibilities of this intriguingly beautiful combination of instruments.
