3MBS Beethoven Marathon 250: Concert 2

Details
3MBS Fine Music Melbourne joins the world in celebrating the 250th birthday of classical music’s most adored and larger-than-life composer Ludwig van Beethoven, by bringing some of Australia’s best fine music performers for an all-day event.
Artistic Director, Chris Howlett has curated six music concerts that will each begin with a reading from one of Beethoven’s private letters to reveal the joyful, tender and painful moments which inspired some of his best-loved works.
Expect to hear favourites like the Mass in C Op.86, An die ferne Geliebte Op.98, and Symphony No.5, as well as some seldom-performed treasures. Featured ensembles include Melbourne Chamber Orchestra, Flinders Quartet, the Goldner String Quartet, the Australian String Quartet, Trio Anima Mundi, Corpus Medicorum alongside soloists Elyane Laussade, Stefan Cassomenos and more.
The 3MBS Beethoven Marathon is an event for the entire family! An all-day dedicated youth program will entertain our youngest music lovers and their grownup companions. Children aged 4-11 are invited to attend Beethoven’s Birthday Party at 11am or 12.30pm and meet the beloved composer in person. In the afternoon, all ages are welcome to observe young aspiring musicians perform and receive feedback from members of Melbourne’s best orchestras and ensembles during free masterclasses.
