‘The rockstars of Nylon-Acoustic Classical music’ – On Sounds

Widely acknowledged for their sophisticated and accessible repertoire, a warm rapport with audiences, and a masterful command of musicality and virtuosity, Andrew Blanch and Ariel Nurhadi are prolific performers on the Australian scene both as a duo, and in trio with renowned Argentinian-Australian Baritone José Carbó.

Let the Duo take you on a personal tour of their labour of love, performing repertoire from their debut album in its entirety. The album is scheduled for release in May 2020 on ABC Classics and includes works for two guitars by Manuel de Falla, Enrique Granados, Jean-Philippe Rameau, Claude Debussy, Philip Houghton, Astor Piazzolla and more. This program provides a journey through some of the greatest music available for two guitars, showcasing the colour, energy and intimacy that the instrument is most loved for.
