Event details

Special guest violist Caroline Henbest joins the Mostly Mozart series for a morning of beautiful string playing.

Carl Nielsen’s Suite for String Orchestra was one of the composer’s earliest works and remains his most widely performed work today. Mozart’s Clarinet Concerto in A, completed in 1791, the year of Mozart’s death, marked his farewell to instrumental music.

Christopher Hogwood has arranged the concerto for the rich sonorities of the viola maintaining the works great melodic and formal richness. A great work of happiness and sadness, of hope and resignation.

Supported by Ardency Kennedy Place by Lendlease.

Presented by Melbourne Recital Centre & Australian National Academy of Music (ANAM)
