With a full repertoire encompassing Borodin’s Prince Igor: Polovtsian Dances, Broadstock’s Stars in a Dark Night, and Sibelius’ Symphony No.2, this is a concert that explores triumph in the face of adversity. From the national triumphs of Russia and Finland in Prince Igor: Polovtsian Dances and Sibelius’ Symphony No.2 respectively, to the personal battle of poet Ivor Gurney with schizophrenia, which inspired Broadstock’s Stars in a Dark Night.
