Melbourne Recital Centre cares deeply about the health and safety of its audiences, artists and staff. We acknowledge that the suspension of normal operations in response to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) is a difficult but essential action for the health of the Victorian public. We are committed to supporting our staff during this time and difficult circumstances. We thank our community for its support during this challenging time.

A sizzling look at Bizet’s great opera. Experience all the passion and drama of Carmen in this stylish semi-staged performance that will have you on the edge of your seat. The irresistible music of Bizet’s masterpiece will be performed by an outstanding Australian cast, including Sally-Anne Russell (Carmen), Bradley Daley (Don José), José Carbó (Escamillo) and Desiree Frahn (Micaëla). Be thrilled by the rich sound of 100 Victoria Chorale singers and the Art of Sound Orchestra in this vibrant production.

Conducted by the dynamic Mario Dobernig and staged by ground-breaking director Sara Brodie, this is Carmen not to be missed.
