United by a love and fascination of Baroque vocal music, Ensemble Ancien presents musical treasures of the 17th and 18th century for modern audiences.

Comprising passionate and experienced early music specialists, the ensemble’s performances mirror the elegance and charm of the period.

Ensemble Ancien explores the vocal treasures of some of Italy’s most cherished Baroque composers including Monteverdi, Strozzi and Steffani. Nature was a poetic canvas for these composers to explore their deepest passions and desires. This alluring theme runs through a program adorned with familiar tunes and seldom-performed gems.
