Known for its ‘superb performances’ (Gramophone, U.K.) and ‘refreshing musicianship’ (Courier Mail), acclaimed chamber ensemble Benaud Trio is among the country’s finest.
Pianist Amir Farid, violinist Lachlan Bramble and cellist Ewen Bramble have established themselves as formidable performers of the major repertoire, works by Australian composers and are adored for their quirky encores.
Grand Vistas is a concert of expression on the largest of scales. Lachlan Skipworth conjures forceful images of waves pounding rocks in his Piano Trio ‘Daha’ whereas the giant structures in Brahms’s gypsy-tinged second Trio feel very human. The performance is heralded by Lili Boulanger’s fragrant and glistening depiction of spring.
‘Nothing less than you’d expect from the Benauds … simply the best of its kind in Australia.’ Arts Hub
