Ukrainian-born guitarist Aleksandr Tsiboulski is widely celebrated, with his recordings attracting rave reviews, an ARIA nomination and international tours.
Aleksandr has won the Australian Guitar Competition, Gisborne Competition and Tokyo International Guitar Competition. His versatility is highlighted in a concert that drifts from the dreams and meditations of John Cage to Bach’s iconic cello suites, new works inspired by Zen Buddhism and the virtuosic works of Niccoló Paganini. Contrasting classic and contemporary sounds, Aleksandr performs on a 19th-century Gaetano Guadagnini guitar and a modern Gibson 335. The two beautiful voices frame a revelatory tour of new and familiar music.
Aleksandr Tsiboulski’s playing has been praised worldwide for ‘sensual intensity’ (Classical Guitar, U.K.), ‘finesse and passion’ (Herald Times, U.S.A.) and ‘responsive virtuosity’ (The Age).
