Melbourne Guitar Quartet’s (MGQ’s) innovative arrangements, technical flair and superb ensemble playing add brilliance to Australia’s musical landscape.

Its unique instrumentation of classical bass, baritone, standard, treble and octave guitars opens a wealth of imaginative possibilities. Amassing diverse audience appeal since its formation in 2005, MGQ captivates avid lovers of chamber music, guitar aficionados and concert first-timers alike.

Guitars take centre stage in a vibrant and energetic collection of dances loved thoroughout diverse continents and centuries. From the galliards, pavans and fandangos of the English and Spanish Renaissance through to Turina’s celebrated Danzas fantásticas and selections from the worldwide sensation of Riverdance, award-winning ensemble Melbourne Guitar Quartet enchants at every turn.
