Ah, Italy—and Italian music! Join us to start our season with a passionate and sunny musical adventure.
Of course, there is Vivaldi, his concertos packed with smiling Venetian brio. We also take in the world of Verdi, with a dramatic and virtuosic string symphony.
After MCO Principal cellist Michael Dahlenburg leads off the touring party with a sparkling concerto, we will be joined by our guest travelling companion, guitarist Slava Grigoryan. Catapulting to fame as the winner of the Tokyo International Classical Guitar Competition, Slava has performed with leading orchestras across Australia and the globe. With MCO, he performs the first Giuliani guitar concerto, one of the Classical icons for the instrument, and a concerto by Vivaldi.
