Event details

‘Chasing each other like, well, three little kois in a pond … [Koi Kingdom] approaches music with a refreshing sense of freedom and irreverence.’

Melbourne-based trio Koi Kingdom’s fearless spirit is matched by its big modern sound. Defined by free expression, the trio’s eclectic music is influenced by diverse styles of jazz, classical and the folk music of Brazil and India.

Off the back of its debut album and national tour in 2018, the group launched right back into composing another release. Seeking to explore as diverse a sonic pallet as possible, Koi Kingdom simultaneously highlights the unique qualities present when these three musicians coalesce.

With detailed composition, instrumental virtuosity and courageous exploration, Koi Kingdom’s newest works are at once further reaching and more powerfully focused.

Presented by Melbourne Recital Centre and Koi Kingdom
