Event details

Mozart’s final opera The Magic Flute is a work full of fantasy and adventure involving a beautiful princess, a powerful ruler and a brave prince with a goofy sidekick.

Filled with thematic melodies, composer Geoffrey Boyd has taken just four classic pieces and arranged them for brass ensemble – including the dynamic Queen of the Night aria. Of Dvořák’s nine symphonies, his eighth stands apart as his most bucolic and idyllic. The influence of Dvořák’s beloved Bohemian folk music is evident in the melodic material producing a fun and lively symphony that all can enjoy.

The Mostly Mozart series of concerts provides an hour of wonderful music and the chance to catch up with friends over a cup of tea with classical masterpieces performed in the acoustic beauty of Elisabeth Murdoch Hall.

Supported by Ardency Kennedy Place by Lendlease.
