Concert Cancellation Notification

We regret to advise Kristian Chong & Friends on Tuesday 24 March has been cancelled.

Melbourne Recital Centre cares deeply about the health and safety of its audiences, artists and staff. We acknowledge that the suspension of normal operations in response to COVID-19 is a difficult but essential action for the health of the Victorian public. We are committed to supporting our staff during this time and difficult circumstances. We thank our community for its support during this challenging time.

All ticket holders are entitled to a full refund via their original point of purchase. If you paid via EFTPOS or cash over the counter the Box Office team will be in touch to assist you in receiving your refund. If you purchased online or over the phone, we are in the process of returning your tickets and crediting your card. This will be done automatically, you don’t need to contact us to obtain your refund. Please note, it may take up to 10 business days for the funds to appear in your account depending on your financial provider.

Pianist Kristian Chong is one of Australia’s most sought-after musicians.

Partnering with his friends, who are some of the best international and Australian music stars, Kristian’s concerts have become treasured occasions to hear chamber music masterpieces performed by artists at the heights of their careers.

Astounding Australian violinist Daniel Dodds is the concertmaster and artistic director of renowned chamber orchestra Festival Strings Lucerne, concertmaster of the Australian World Orchestra and is simply a brilliant musician. He joins celebrated pianist Kristian Chong to present a powerful work by pianist-composer Olli Mustonen, his Sonata for Violin & Piano (2012) and Brahms’s dramatic Sonata for Violin & Piano No.3. This is chamber music not to be missed, featuring two renowned and outstanding performers.
