Australian Brandenburg Orchestra regrets to advise that the Ottoman Baroque concerts on Thursday 22, Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 October have been cancelled.
Melbourne Recital Centre cares deeply about the health and safety of its audiences, artists and staff. We acknowledge that the suspension of normal operations in response to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) is a difficult but essential action for the health of the Victorian public. We are committed to supporting our staff during this time and difficult circumstances. We thank our community for its support during this challenging time.
All ticket holders are entitled to a full refund via their original point of purchase. We are currently in the process of arranging refunds.

The mesmerising Whirling Dervishes are steeped in mystique and will return from Turkey to dazzle in Paul Dyer’s Ottoman Baroque.
Inspired by the sacred and plaintive sounds of both Christian and Sufi chant, Ottoman Baroque will be an imaginative musical meditation. Plainsong will be woven with folksong and Baroque works inspired by eastern exoticism into a rich musical tapestry of European, Mediterranean and Oriental traditions. Experience an atmospheric pasticcio inspired by the colourful bazaars of Istanbul.
In a celebration of movement, colour and sound, five of Turkey’s most venerated traditional musicians will appear with the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra and members of the Brandenburg Choir building to a crescendo with the arrival of the mesmerising Whirling Dervishes. the arrival of the mesmerizing Whirling Dervishes.
