Ensemble SARAY Iluminado join us for this Relaxed Performance. Members of SARAY Iluminado take their audiences on intimate musical journeys into the world of Sevdah, the traditional music from Bosnia and Herzegovina and Sephardic Jewish Romances heard across the Balkans. Led by the Bosnian-Australian singer and composer Nela Trifkovic and featuring a stellar ensemble of Melbourne’s multi-instrumentalists, this group swiftly moves through the emotional landscapes of joy, grief, hope and despair that are portrayed in their intricate arrangements of Sevdah and Sephardic music.
Supported by The Calvert-Jones Foundation and The Samuel Nissen Charitable Foundation.
