‘This is real classical playing of a kind rarely encountered now.’ Limelight magazine
London-based, Australian-born classical pianist Geoffrey Saba studied at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music with Raymond Lambert before embarking on a tremendous international career spanning many decades, recordings and performances across the globe.
He is particularly devoted to the music of Schubert which he has performed and written about extensively. Praised by The West Australian for his ability to play the great master’s works ‘as the composer had wished them to be played’, this concert revels in the rare musicality Saba brings to the composer. Containing one of the first pieces Schubert ever published, his Sonata No.17, and unfinished works that were completed after his death by modern composers, Saba sheds insight on both the adored and lesser-known aspects of this beloved artist.
